B.   Community Development – Chairman Vicki McNamara

Chairman McNamara reported that the work day at Citizens Lake on April 25th was successful with a lot of trash cleaned up along with the fence row closest to the Pool being totally cleared of vines and brush.  There will be another work day on May 9th to do some painting of posts and picnic tables. In addition, the Pool has had the drain repaired in the Baby Pool and the slow leakage in the main pool, according to Munson Pool Supply, is not considered structural, but most likely involves a defective valve.  Ryan Lipes will be the Pool Manager again this year and will be overseeing the opening of the pool, which will be sometime the last week in May.  The "Name the Seal" contest that was conducted in the Monmouth-Roseville Schools as well as the United District Schools has produced a winning name for the pool mascot.  The new name, which was submitted by Hannah Leary from Lincoln School, is "Seamore the Seal".  It is hoped to use this new mascot to promote interest in using the pool.  The annual MPD Fishing Derby is being held on Saturday, May 17th and the North Lake will be stocked prior to the event.
