The City Clerk is the official record keeper of the City. All official documents of the City are kept in the City Clerk's office. The City Seal is the responsibility of the City Clerk and is used on official documents.

The duties of the Clerk are found in the Illinois Complied Statutes (ILCS) and also in the Monmouth Municipal Code, Chapter 31, City Officials.

The Clerk is the Freedom of Information Officer as well as Public Information Officer.

The City Clerk issues Liquor and Miscellaneous Licenses as well as Cemetery Deeds. The Clerk oversees and maintains the corporate drawer.

In election years, the City Clerk oversees and reports candidates filing for municipal offices.

Records for the Monmouth cemetery are maintained in the Clerk's office.

The City Clerk, Susan Trevor and staff, Connie Hill and Marjorie Brooks, with assistance from Jan Helms, are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to serve the public.

Council Agenda Request Form

Person(s) wanting to come before Council to request street closures for events, to request permission to hold an event on City property, or address other issues related to the City must complete an Agenda request form, including a phone number where you can be reached, and return it to the City Clerk. She or her staff will contact you regarding your attendance at a Council meeting - time, date, etc.

UNA ORGANIZACIÓN DE AGENDA DE REQUERIRÁ

Para personas que requieren un permiso para eventos, para requerir permiso de tener un evento en la propiedad de la cuidad, o que tengan preguntas sobre problemas relacionado con la cuidad por favor llenar una aplicación con su preguntas o quejas, incluya un numero de teléfono donde pueda ser contactado, y después regresar el aplicación a la secretaria de la cuidad. La secretaria de la cuidad y las personas quien trabaja con ella van a llamarte acerca de una conjunta con el consejo- horario, fecha, etc.
