Monmouth Business Council

About the Council

The Monmouth Business Council began in November 2009. It is a group of concerned citizens and business people who are willing to take more active roles with the purpose and theme to Restore – Replant & Revitalize the Monmouth Community. The Council focuses on ways to enhance and support the businesses of Monmouth and create a better quality of life for the business community and residents.

Meetings are currently being held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 3 PM at the 1st Street Armoury. Communication is handled through email, community calendar in the Review Atlas, the Chamber newsletter and the City and Chamber activity calendars. There are no dues to become involved in the Business Council and folks are encouraged to participate in many ways – even if they cannot attend meetings. To become involved they can contact current chairman Kim Sheetz-Zugmaier at 309-734-3231, or 734-8260 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Market Alley Music Dayz

Join the Monmouth Business Council on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month (through September 14th) for a music-filled lunch experience in Monmouth's historic Market Alley.

Each event will feature a business sponsor, tasty food vendor and great musical act. In the event of rain, the event will be held at the 1st Street Armoury.

Building Grant Fund

The Monmouth Business Council, in partnership with the City of Monmouth and a local foundation, has created the Building Grant Fund to facilite commercial building improvement within Monmouth's TIF district.

The grant will provide funds for 33% of a project, with a minimum amount of $10,000 and a maximum of $50,000.

A grant from this fund will be in the form of a four-year forgivable loan, with 25% being forgiven each year.
