Commercial Limited Aeronautical Service Operation Permit

Every company or person engaged in a Limited Aeronautical Service Operation at the Monmouth Municipal Airport is required to hold a LASO permit. The license fee is $250 per annum, and the permit must be filed with the City Clerk's office.

Liquor License

Use this form to apply for a license to sell alcoholic liquor in the City of Monmouth. License approval will require a background check. Please note that there are only a limited number of liquor licenses available for each class. Please check with the City Clerk's office before submitting the application for availability.

Draymen Business License

Every person engaged in the business of carrying goods for hire shall be considered an expressman or drayman (such as motor vehicle delivery, taxicabs and hackmen). The license fee is $10 per annum per vehicle, and the license must be filed with the City Clerk's office.

Taxi Cab Operator License

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $5 per annum. Must provide driver's license information and basic background check information.

Taxi Cab Business

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $15 per vehicle, per annum. Financial responsibility must be filed with the City Clerk prior to license issuance. A current copy of proof of insurance for each vehicle must accompany the application.

Billiard and Pool Hall

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $50 per table. No person, firm, or corporation shall operate, maintain, or conduct a billiard pool, bagatelle, or pigeonhole table open to the public without first having obtained a license.

Bowling Alley License

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $10 per alley. No person, firm, or corporation shall operate or maintain a bowling alley to the public without first having obtained a license.

Coin Operated Device

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $30 per annum, per device. An automatic amusement device is any pinball or ball-table machine, marble machine, or any type of game, machine or table in which any ball, sphere, missile, arm crane, rod or plunger is struck, released, controlled or manipulated for the purpose of amusement or skill, or any machine operated by an electric beam, an electrical impulse, or any type of mechanical or electrical machine or game controlled or manipulated for the purpose of amusement or skill and in which a test of skill is involved, and for the playing of which a fee is charged.

Transient Merchant or Peddler

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $50 per day or $250 annum. A non-profit license is $25 daily. It shall be unlawful for any person, either as principal or agent, to conduct business as a transient merchant, itinerant vendor or peddler without first having secured a license.

Cigarette Sales

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $50 per annum. No person shall engage in the sale of cigarettes containing tobacco in any form, or cigarette papers or wrappers, in the city without first having taken out a license.

Pawnbroker

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $50 per annum. A background check will be done prior to issuing a Pawnbroker's License.

Secondhand Store

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $25 per annum. Secondhand good shall mean goods which are resold by the dealer but secondhand goods shall not include junk as those goods defined as rags, old rope, paper or bagging, old iron, brass, copper or empty bottles.

Skating Rink

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $25 for an annual license or $10 per quarter per rink. It is unlawful to conduct a public skating rink in any hall or building which is not equipped with sufficient and adequate exits.

Street and Sidewalk Stand

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $10 per day or $100 per annum. Street or sidewalk stands for the sale of fruit, candy, ice cream, popcorn, peanuts or any other article or thing not prohibited by law or ordinance on the sidewalks or street.

Ammunition Sales

To be filed with the City Clerk's Office. License fee is $25 per annum. Requires certificate for Retailer's Occupation Tax and Federal Gun Dealer's License.

Tree Trimming License

No person shall cut or trim trees in the City of Monmouth unless he obtains a license from the City Clerk. No license shall be issued unless proof of bond insurance is presented. License fee is $25 per annum.

Special Event License

Use this form to apply for a special event license. This license allows and organization or merchants' association to, if approved by Council, hold an event on public property with allowable alcohol (providing proper liquor licensing and insurance. Application also contains section 115.24 of the Municipal Code, covering the special event process.
