Will rental properties be inspected yearly? |
|
No. If a rental unit is issued a certificate of inspection that certificate is good for three (3) years. When it gets close to the end of three (3) years the landlord will be notified that the property will again need to be inspected. If a re-inspection of the premises has not been completed prior to the expiration of the certificate of inspection, the rental unit may continue to be rented until the re-inspection is completed.
If a complaint is received regarding a rental unit, however, the city may inspect the premises even though it may, or may not, have already been inspected.
