Monmouth Downhill Derby 2017

It was downhill derby time again on Saturday!

Originally started in 2001 by former Police Chief Gary Morefield, the Downhill Derby provides an opportunity for children to interact with police officers in a positive environment. Over 500 kids have participated since its inception. Sponsors now also include the Monmouth Fire Department, the Monmouth VFW, and the Maple City Street Machines.

Sixty to eighty kids participate in this fun event, which is open to all third, fourth and fifth grade students at Monmouth-Roseville schools and Immaculate Conception School.

South Sunny Lane Road Ribbon Cutting

We had a ribbon cutting for the South Sunny Lane road reconstruction & drainage control project today. This project was primarily funded by the private sector and was a great example of public/private partnership. Contributions from Big River Resources, West Central FS and a local foundation helped us to bring a new and improved road designed for the maximum weight limit of any vehicle.
