The Monmouth Police Department hires police officers from a list of candidates who have successfully completed the Monmouth Board of Fire and Police Commissioners eligibility testing process.

Full time & Part-Time Emergency Dispatcher


Warren County 911/Monmouth Police Department is seeking a high energy
individual who thrives in a fast paced challenging workplace. Part time 911
Dispatcher hourly pay begins at $14.35 - $15.43 depending on education, and
increases to $17.09 - $18.37 after 1 year of service, with the possibility of full time
employment upon completion of training. Full time hourly pay increases to
$18.45 - $19.83 after 1 year of service.


In addition to a generous salary, full time and part time employees are eligible for
benefits including retirement through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund,
vacation time after 1 year of service, sick time accrual, paid personal days, and
paid time off for holidays worked. Full time employees are also eligible for health
insurance and eye and dental insurance.
Duties include but are not limited to answering phones, making calls for service,
and dispatching police, fire and ambulances for Warren County. Typing,
computer, and multi-tasking skills are a must. Ability to handle stressful situations
and prioritize items quickly is a major part of the job. Emergency Dispatchers are
required to work days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays according to
the needs of the Department. High School diploma or equivalency, valid driver’s
license and a thorough background check is required.l.
